Systems Technician

Job Position:

Classification: Non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act
Reporting: Systems Technicians report to the Project Manager

Job Summary:

This position is a great opportunity for a hard-working individual who is looking to join and learn about the ever-growing low-voltage and custom integration industry. Working alongside senior technicians, the individual in this role will train and learn the many aspects of residential and commercial integration including pulling and terminating wire, rack installation, and understanding signal flows and control systems for distributed audio, video, home theater systems, security systems, access control, CCTV/Video, and surveillance cameras. After the job is complete, Systems Technicians are responsible for documenting parts and procedures, as well as ensuring the job space is clean and neat.

Basic Job Requirements:

  • Pull and terminate low voltage wires
  • Complete audio/video installs and setup
  • Proficient with hand and power tools used to complete physical installation of speakers, displays, and equipment racks.
  • Troubleshoot systems at job sites
  • Networking/data system install and setup
  • Programming of single-room, advanced systems
  • Self-motivated, task-driven, and able to apply “best practices” theory
  • Knowledge of the construction and design/build industry, and trade coordination.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person and/or via email, phone, or text to varied audiences.
  • Positive attitude with a commitment to offering top-notch customer service.
  • An independent thinker and problem solver.
  • Must be able to maintain a valid Driver's License
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Must be able to use ladders and lifts

Work Hours and Travel:

  • Systems Technicians can work in 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week. These shifts are Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday.
  • Due to the nature of the position, frequent travel to and from job sites will be required. Company vehicles are available for use. There are minimal overnight stays per year
  • This position does require being on-call a few weeks per year
